On 11th February the ONS will release the GDP data for December 2018, giving us the full picture of growth in the UK last year. On the same day, IHS Markit will release the first NatWest Regional PMI of 2019, providing an indication of how the regional economy has begun the year following above average growth in the region in 2018 – especially in the East Midlands. With the potential for increasing trade tensions between the USA and China, seemingly stagnant growth in Europe and continued uncertainty around Brexit, global economic conditions seem somewhat turbulent – what impact will this have on the Midlands?
We invite you to join in the discussion in the last Midlands Perspectives before the currently scheduled exit of the EU on 29th March we will discuss regional economic trends in 2018 and future prospects for the region in 2019.
