UK Services PMI - June 2018

UK Services PMI - June 2018

The UK services PMI increased from 54.0 in May to 55.1 in June.

The UK Services PMI was 55.1 in June, up from 54.0 in May, with an increase in client demand - especially in business and finance - and the good weather supporting consumer spending. However, some businesses reported that Brexit uncertainty had held back some client spending, especially large corporate clients. The strong demand from clients, coupled with difficulties in recruiting in the current tight labour market conditions, led to an increase in backlogs of work. Cost burdens also increased, putting pressure on margins, with fuels prices and salaries increases being passed on to consumers.
